Information collection, use, and sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only collect information that you voluntarily give us, such as when you register, log trips, join a team, or contact us. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request (for example, to answer a question) or with the service providers we use to run this website.

We use these service providers, which handle your information only to provide their service to us:

  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3) stores the profile photos you upload.
  • Postmark delivers the emails this website sends, such as password reset emails. It receives your email address and the contents of those emails.
  • Mailchimp manages our email newsletter. Signing up for the challenge does not sign you up for the newsletter. Only if you choose to subscribe, using the newsletter sign-up form, will your email address and anything else you enter on that form be sent to Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about the challenge or changes to this privacy policy.

To determine prize winners, the event organizers download a spreadsheet of participants' names, usernames, email addresses, teams, and trip totals. This information is used only by the organizers to run the challenge and award prizes.
